Kadokawa's Weekly Famitsu magazine is unveiling on Thursday more details, including the title and screenshots, for The IDOLM@STER game that Bandai Namco Entertainment will release on the PlayStation 4 console. The magazine will devote four pages to The IDOLM@STER: Platinum Stars game. The feature will publish information on the game's setting, an interview with the franchise's chief producer Yōzō Sakagami, and other information.
The first game in the franchise inspired Sunrise's 2007 loose television anime adaptation which Sentai Filmworks licensed for North America. The game franchise then spawned A-1 Pictures' more direct adaptation that included a 2011 television anime series, several original video anime, and a 2014 anime film, THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukōgawa e! (pictured right). Crunchyroll streamed A-1 Pictures' television series as it aired in Japan.
The spinoff game The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls launched its second anime season last year. Video game developer Cygames' director Eitoshi Ashihara had announced at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference (CEDEC) in September 2014 that his company was working on a PlayStation 4 game after working on Rage of Bahamut and The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls.
