Sony announced on Thursday that it would be holding an event on February 20 at 6:00 p.m. EST for people to "see the future":
The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported on Friday that Sony will unveil the successor to its PlayStation 3 video game console at the event. According to the newspaper's sources, Sony will incorporate more social gaming elements into the new console, but will retain an optical disc drive due to bandwidth concerns in some countries. The Wall Street Journal also discussed the possible inclusion of an Advanced Micro Devices processor and cloud service technology from Sony's recent acquisition of Gaikai. The Wall Street Journal added that it thinks the console will be available near the end of this year.
