Digital Manga's Kindle Publishing Suspended

Yaoi/boys-love publisher unable to publish to Kindle "for the foreseeable future"

The North American publisher Digital Manga announced on their blog in a Thursday post that their account has been suspended from Amazon's Kindle platform, making them unable to publish new titles for the Kindle "for the foreseeable future."

The post states that the company had been cited for "content violation," and notes that the company has struggled with the wording of Amazon's content policy. Yaoi/boys-love titles by the publisher have been removed from the Kindle store in the past. Digital Manga also states in the post that they are now "pursuing the possibility" of offering digital manga through other platforms as a result of this event.

Amazon's guidelines for Kindle content prohibit the sale of pornography and "offensive content" (defined by the retailer as "What we deem offensive is probably about what you would expect"). Apple's rival iTunes App Store and iBookstore have already implemented similar content restrictions.
