That's interesting. I would have thought this would have happened when the game was first released.

Now I'm wondering did we get our copy. No wait we did. Because the first release came packaged with the 2nd game.

Kinda glad it's kinda getting another print run. As that 1st print run seems to be done and ebay/amazon scalpers are trying to make money off of the copies that are out there now(like Devil's Third).

So now this new run of copies will hurt them and help people that are looking for the game find it cheap. Only difference now is that there's no first game, although anyone with a PS3/360 can fix that.

If you already have the initial game of Bayonetta on your PS3, then this standalone debut of Bayonetta 2 is not a bad buy.

not happening, Nintendo funded and published Bayonetta 2 which is why it exists in the first place

The digital version is also on the eShop, if someone really wants the Wii U version and it's bonus Nintendo-themed content.

That's exactly what happened in Europe. Bayonetta 2 was sold as a stand alone game for €60 and if you wanted a disc copy of Bayonetta 1 you had to purchase the Limited(€80) or First Print(Collectors €110) Edition. Bayonetta 1 was only made available for purchase on the EShop outside of these two editions.

Smart move, especially with how she will be in Smash 4 next month. I know of people that had a hard time finding the game outside of eBay after she was announced.

It is a bummer for those that want to play the first one, but lack a PS3/Xbox 360 and/or space for the game on their Wii U (EShop-wise), unless they buy extra storage.

When they did that for the 1st one, not enough people bought.

Or the XB1 since Sega Wants Bayonetta To Be Xbox One Backwards Compatible.

It's on the list:

My memory's a little hazy but isn't the PS3 version of the first game considered inferior to the 360 version due to Sega handing off development to another team of developers?

How's the PS3 version of Bayonetta inferior to that of the Xbox 360? Lesser content? Gameplay too hard? Or are the graphics on the PS3 not as appealing?

The PS3 port was handled by SEGA and it was plagued by bad visual quality, slow frame rate, control problems and long loading times.

There were moments where normally you get an item and immediately you get a description of said item. But in the PS3 version, when you get an item, it loads for about 5 or more seconds and then it shows the item description.

Even with patches, it was still a butchered port from the 360 version.

Here's the comparison video to show you how bad it was.

@TrowaAyanami

Thanks for the video. The frame rate of PS3 Bayonetta never even rose above 50. -_- Yes, very bad port by SEGA.
