I always get Turboranger mixed up with Carranger since Carranger was adapted as Power Rangers Turbo in English.

Too many car (six times), dinosaur (four times) or insect based ones (twice for teams but four additional times for individuals) for my liking.
Samurai has been done once, Ninjas three times and martial arts three times. Electronics has been done three times. Elements (Earth, Wind, Water, etc..) has been done eight times. Space (either kidnapped to space or being aliens on earth has been done 4 or 5 times) |

It's interesting how Gokai Red is that popular among people in their 30s, considering Gokaiger is relatively recent, especially compared to the likes of Turboranger. A shame we'll never see the full team reunited again, after Gokai Silver's recent...endeavors.

I'm in my 30's and think Gokai Red was a BAMF. That being said, I'm a little surprised that Turboranger beat out other "age-appropriate" series like Zyuranger, Jetman, Megaranger, and the aforementioned Carranger. |

Seems like a stretch to call it a Power Rangers reference. The Gokaiger's got the suits wrong more than once because they literally have no idea of Sentai history. People were comparing Carranger to Turboranger long before Power Rangers was even a thing. |

Yeah, Linkara even recently reviewed the Gokaiger episode where that happens and had folks claiming it was a Power Rangers Turbo reference, but that's way too out-there to be intentional. I'd imagine the folks writing Gokaiger would've had to really, really dig to see that Carranger was adapted as Power Rangers Turbo in the US (whereas them being called "Power Rangers" and the "It's Morphin' Time!" lines are pretty widely known). And the Gokaiger not knowing about sentai is canonical in-universe, Gokai Silver had to make them encyclopedias so they'd be up-to-date with all the Sentai teams. It's part of why he was such an asset to them: he actually knew the teams because he was an Earthling. At any rate, I'm pretty surprised that Turboranger was so well-loved by the Japanese fanbase because I never heard many fans talk about it that much. Any character that can beat out freaking GokaiRed/Captain Marvelous in popularity deserves the nod, given how widely Captain Marvelous is beloved by fans both young and old. |
