I really wish Yen Press would have public announcements when they decide to change a title from a previous announcement, instead of this silent change on their website, which has happened with many series.

You know, in the whole industry there are like two seiyuu who can speak passable Russian, and I doub't they'll switch Sumipe for Jenya. Laughing

You know what is interesting? In this year's Detective Conan film, there were quite a few Russian characters as well as Russian lines. They even got a Russian-language coach to help with the main cast speaking Russian too. With Conan's budget, they were able to get a few native Russian speakers in the film in addition to the coach. If Arya has some proper budget, and I think it does, they can do the same.

Uesaka Sumire speaks fluent Russian and has already played the part for the franchise's audio drama. It's not like Golden Kamui which has an ensemble cast of Russian-speakers, here only one character needs to speak the language and she does the job perfectly well. I've heard her Russian lines in other works and there's no problem hiring her for the animated adaptation.
