I remember Habu being asked about a Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth anime. I hope this is on par with it, but I'll keep expectations low.

Well, Tri is good. But when I remember how Xros Wars was, my expectations drop a little as well.
But hey, after years without new Digimon stuff, I'm taking whatever I can get. I wonder if Digimon Universe means we'll get to see characters from the different games/anime all together. Imagine if it was a gathering of all the Digimon World games. With Mikagura Mirei, it could happen. "Appli" might be an abbreviation of Application or "App". Another smartphone game, maybe? Eager to lean more.

A brand new Digimon anime series coming out this fall? Awesome! Also, the title Digimon Universe does give me the hope that we will see every established Digimon series all being put into one Universe regardless if it's either from originally an anime or a video game, I just want to have a proper Crisis level crossover with the Digimon franchise unlike the rush job that was with how that awful third season from Digimon Xros Wars has ended up.
Lastly, I just hope that this new Digimon Universe anime doesn't interfere too much with the upcoming Digimon Adventure Tri movies moving forward. |

Would rather have tri as a anime series. But hopefully they don't have overly stupid gimmick this time. Back to basics please.

We have a winner! Yes, "appli" is Moonspeak for "smartphone application." Guess they didn't like "app." Perhaps it's meant to be the smartphone game that gets mentioned in Cyber Sleuth? Either way I'm a sucker for this kind of series, with or without the Digimon branding. How long will the DigiRenaissance last? |

Maybe its a pronunciation thing. In Japanese, "Appli" becomes "Apuri" and so: Dejimon Apuri. |

Have people who are complaining about Xros Wars actually watched the entire thing? Because, aside from the "sequel" season, it was a pretty good show. There were definitely things that changed and I think those were just out of the hands of the creative staff due to all the mucking about that went on with the show, but you had some really interesting executions within the show - a partner Digimon who was evil and manipulated their partner, a human character who was straight up sadistic and evil because they wanted to be and weren't under any form of mind control.
Xros Wars was rocky, but when it was on point, it had some of the best moments in the entire franchise. |

The 'digivolving' in XW sucked, but thestory was good and the ending gavev me great satisfaction. Sequel wasn'tas good.

Its been a while since Digimon anime adapted from other source like game or manga. The 1st one is X-Evolution but not fully adapted but only the concept from the manga Digimon Chronicles with main theme about Yggdrasil, Royal Knights and X-antibody.
Maybe it will use same way for this upcoming anime too, use the same concept from game but the story is totally original. I would rather have Re:digitize or Cyber Sleuth as anime though But hey, the project revealed to be a TV Series, better than Tri anime at least. Looking forward to this. |
